The Exmoor Food Safari explores the journey from park to plate in the friendly and welcoming surroundings of The Culbone, Exmoor National Park's highest inn. Overlooking Lorna Doone Valley the location provides a bountiful natural larder where the team's commitment to local produce has already won them several awards. Held over a weekend Saturday is Catch it, Cook it, Eat it day – with a trip to Bellbrook Fishery to learn how to fly fish and catch local trout for dinner. Later on Head Chef Jack Scarterfield will deliver a master class in cooking with fish, using the fish caught earlier for one of the courses. On Sunday guests will see life through the eyes of Exmoor Farmer Simon David at Big Red Cow who farms his herd of Ruby Red Devon Cattle on the National Trust Holincote Estate. Later, guests return to The Culbone's new Cookery School for a master class in cooking beef.

Situated in the heart of Burgundy La Ferme de la Lochère Cookery School is run by professional chef Katherine Frelon. With courses available for up to one week, a stay at La Ferme de la Lochère offers a variety of culinary experiences, from cooking with locally sourced ingredients and private tours of Burgundy's most prestigious vineyards, to demonstrations at Michelin starred restaurant Le Charlemagne, dining at 3* Michelin Relais de Bernard Loiseau and trips to the Dijon market designed by one of France's most famous architects, Gustave Eiffel. Each course is carefully developed to suit chefs of all levels.

Aggie Arts offers a full range of art and craft courses and short breaks on the stunning Cornish coast in UNESCO heritage site St Agnes. Courses also include Cornish pasty making, brewery and beer tasting and wine and spirit tasting.

Cornish Pasty Making: Under the guidance of Giles Docking, St Agnes' champion pasty maker learn about the folklore of pasties; watch a demonstration; make a pasty and eat it! The workshop lasts two hours. End the session with a delicious lunch or snack and a drink from the bar. Price from £17.50per person. All ingredients and utensils will be supplied, including aprons.

Brewery Tours and Beer Tasting: St Agnes' historic Driftwood Spars runs its own micro-brewery and has recently won the prestigious 'Campaign for Real Ale award for Supreme Winter Beer of Britain 2012′. Take a brewery tour learning about the art of brewing, flavours and ingredients followed by a tutored tasting. The tour takes about two hours. Prices from £15 per person.

Wine and Spirit Tasting: Learn about wine and spirits under the tutelage of Iain Hargreaves. Tasting will take about an hour and participants can expect to try about five wines. There is a wide choice of workshops. Price depending on wine/spirit selection from £25 - £35 per person.

The Suffolk-based Food Safari runs a programme of food and drink courses and events that go further than a traditional cookery school. On a Food Safari there is the opportunity to meet the experts and learn new skills, as well as sampling delicious food and drink. In 2012 it won UK Cookery School Awards Best Day Course and the Suffolk Food & Drink Awards Pride of Suffolk; and were finalists in the British Cookery School Awards Best Use of Local Ingredients.

2013 sees Food Safari including new courses in London, Derbyshire, Lancashire and Cambridgeshire.

London courses cover artisan food and drink producers such as Sipsmith gin, The London Honey Company (renowned for their hives on top of the Tate galleries, Fortnam and Masons and Harrods), Urban Foraging, and England Preserves who will run seasonal preserving workshops.

The first Lancashire Food Safari courses will be a fun hands-on game butchery session Game in a Day at new farm shop Roaming Roosters, near Burnley. Learn all about great British game - its seasons, hanging, preparation and cookery and prepare your own pheasant, mallard and rabbit to take home at the end of the course. Similar courses are available in Suffolk and Derbyshire.

Coworth Park, Dorchester Collection's country house hotel and spa in Berkshire, is once again offering a range of Kitchen Master-classes. The master-classes offer a unique opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade directly from the professionals while gathering an exciting glimpse into the day-to-day operations of running the five-star kitchen at Coworth Park.
