The Garden of England Cook School is situated within Haguelands Village, a working farm located in Kent on the beautiful and historic Romney Marsh with its abundance of fresh and varied produce.

Suitable for adults and children alike, The Garden of England Cook School caters for beginners, intermediate and advanced cooks. Classes include cooking main course meat, fish and game or party cakes and delicious deserts.

David and Holly Jones, co-owners of Manna from Devon, run a wide variety of cookery and baking classes (of no more than eight students) at Kingswear overlooking the River Dart.  Courses include bread and baking, cooking in a Bushman wood-fired oven and ‘Fabulous Fish’. The stylishly decorated, homely kitchen and the outdoors’ decking overlook stunning views across the Dart estuary to Dartmouth. In addition to the main kitchen there is a second kitchen which is in the style of a bakery.   

Accommodation can also be provided with a stay in their comfortable B&B.

Located with easy access to the slopes of Kitzbühel, the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Rosengarten in Kirchberg is the brainchild of top Austrian chef Simon Taxacher. His restaurant has been awarded four toques and 19 points by the 2014 Gault Millau guide, catapulting him to the top of Austria’s culinary elite.

During 2014 the hotel’s top floor cooking studio and cookery school offers taster cookery courses on 12 January, 9 February, 15 June, 6 July, 10 August, 7 September. The classes take place between 10am and 3pm, and include a welcome drink and five-course lunch, accompanied with corresponding wines.

A three night stay at the Relais & Châteaux Rosengarten in Kirchberg starts from €619 per person, in a standard double room, including a one day taster cookery course.

Award-winning river cruise line AmaWaterways has introduced an enhanced range of shore excursions, Limited Edition Tours, aimed at guests who are already familiar with the ports visited and are looking for a different angle or a deeper immersion in local culture.

The Gilbert Scott, Marcus Wareing’s brasserie and bar at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, is famed for its very British menu. Using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, The Gilbert Scott takes inspiration from tradition, whilst delivering fare with a modern twist. Guests can look forward to a seven course menu of dishes created in the kitchens of one of the world’s most famous trains.

Dining on board the British Pullman is one of London’s most exclusive and luxurious dining experiences. With its original 1920s art deco carriages and exceptional personal service by authentic stewards in livery the train evokes the golden age of travel. The Gilbert Scott’s ‘Great British Journey’ costs £495 per person.

Eurostar and world-renowned Chef Patron, Raymond Blanc OBE, have launched new winter menus for Eurostar’s Business Premier passengers complete with Europe’s first high-speed Afternoon Tea, which will be served between 14.00 and 17.30 and feature traditional cake as well as classic English scones from Raymond Blanc’s own recipe, served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

In addition to the classic British scones, cakes and teas, Eurostar’s Business Premier passengers will be able choose up to three hot and cold light savoury dishes. The savoury options have a European flavour and include dishes like vegetarian lasagne, mushroom risotto and poached hot smoked salmon.

LD Lines has announced the introduction of a new UK to Spain service between Poole (Dorset) and Santander in Northern Spain.

Complementing LD Lines’ existing France to Spain route between Saint Nazaire, south of Brittany and Gijón in Northern Spain, the service represents a major development to the company’s creation of an Atlantic ferry network, providing new links to serve the UK, French, Spanish and Portuguese freight and tourist markets and making regions such as the Algarve within easier reach for UK motorists.

Dorset-based ferry operator, Condor Ferries has launched its 2014/15 sailing schedule offering sailings right through until 24 March 2015, allowing guests to book journeys from the UK to the Channel Islands and France up to 16 months in advance.

Guests travelling on the fast ferries will be able to take advantage of a choice of sailings from both Weymouth and Poole to Guernsey, Jersey and connecting services through to St Malo in France.

Customers will also benefit from ever-popular day trips from both UK ports to Guernsey, allowing guests to experience a taste of the Channel Islands, as well as take advantage of duty free shopping on board.

Malaysia Airlines has partnered with chef Richard Corrigan, one of the UK and Ireland’s most esteemed chefs and restaurateurs, to create and launch a limited edition in-flight menu from February 2014. Richard Corrigan’s signature menu will sit alongside the traditional Malaysian menu and be available to First and Business Class passengers flying on Malaysia Airlines’ double daily A380 service from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
