Barbeton

Fréderic Nicolay has opened a new bar called ‘Bar Beton’ (Bar Concrete). The pub is named after its concrete exterior and is a copy of ‘The cité radieuse’ designed by the architect Le Corbusier.  www.barbeton.be

Flamingo

Brussels largest bar: Constructed by joining four different shops, the Flamingo boasts a  400 m² space. Fréderic Nicolay (creator of Barbeton) aimed at creating a harmonious space with respect to the architecture around it. Incorporated into the design is a protected façade,  art-nouveau stucco/plaster and parquet flooring.  DJ’s will play on a regular basis in the pub, making it one of the top Brussels nightlife hot spots. http://www.facebook.com/flamingo.Brussels

The Greenwich Café

Kartuizenstraat – Rue des Chartreux 7: After a short period of closure, the Greenwich Cafe has finally has re-opened its doors. A popular chess-player haunt, it is said that Magritte was a regular client. The chess-café has become a brasserie offering  typical Belgian food at reasonable prices. www.greenwich-cafe.be
