A great couple of useful guides for getting the best out of your visit to London.
Time Out Guides – London
Just because the Olympics and all the celebrations of 2012 are over doesn’t mean that London should be bypassed as a holiday destination. With the opening of new hotels, restaurants and attractions there is even more to see and do than ever before. For instance there is a cable car across the Thames; Cutty Sark has been beautifully restored and with the Olympic Park being transformed London has a new open space.
Think you know London? We thought we did until we picked up a copy of the Time Out Guide to London. London has been carefully divided into manageable ‘Explore’ regions such as Oxford St & Marylebone, North London, The City, Holborn & Clerkenwell, Chelsea, etc, etc. And in those sections the museums and the sights. Particularly useful for anybody exploring on a budget – free admission is clearly flagged up. The authors have skilfully managed to get fact upon fact into the short write ups.
But it’s not just about attractions. Also included in the guide is advice on places to shop, eat, stay, arts and entertainment, history, architecture, maps and even some excursions to places outside London. It is a truly indispensable book for anybody visiting London. Time Out Guides – London. ISBN 978184670380-5. £12.99.
Time Out – London Top 100
Whilst buying the main Time Out London Guide we would also recommend adding a copy of the pocket sized Time Out London Top 100 – Best things to Do, to the shopping basket. The Top 100 are divided into neat categories, such as Finding a Bargain, A Birds-Eye View of London, Rainy Afternoons, A Taste of London Life, Lazy Sundays and Entertaining the Kids. Time Out Guides – London Top 100. ISBN 978184670217-4. £4.99
