I had the pleasure of taking part in a centenary event in June 2014 called the Circuito Motociclistico D’Italia, which was effectively a re-run of an event first held in 1914.
It was organised by the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano), an Italian motoring organisation in conjunction with the Ariel Motorcycle Owners Club.
Food was included and about 50 of us from several countries toured all over Italy on pre-1960 motorcycles from Milan to Florence to Venice and up to the lakes. In every respect we certainly had a taste of Italy; it was fantastic. R.B.
