It’s taken me many years to find somewhere to eat in Brighton with that ‘certain something’. But the Irish owned Lion and Lobster is definitely it.

I have always had a hate relationship with mozzarella – boringly tasteless and stringy in my view. But then a friend and I lunched at Obikà. And whilst I still hold true to my original premise I now know that authentic Mozzarella di Bufala is fabulous.

Dinner at Auberge de l’Abbaye was an absolute joy. Nestled in the sleepy monastic village of Signy-l’Abbaye in Champagne-Ardenne, the former Post Office has been run by the same family for seven generations and oozes character and charm.
