From 24 November Cité Europe is transformed into a magical “Fairy tale” land with animated scenes and displays including Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio and Puss in Boots. Father Christmas will be on-hand in his Grotto, every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday from 1 December. Other Christmas festivities will be taking place too, including carol singing and face painting, plus rides around the centre every day from Saturday 8 December in the “Petit Train”.
Cité Europe boasts 140 shops and a 10-pin bowling complex. Visitors can enjoy an extensive range of top quality shops, including ladies and gents fashion, children’s clothes and toys, housewares, gifts, perfumes and sports equipment. The massive Carrefour hypermarket stocks an amazing choice of French and international produce. Stock up the cellar in time for Christmas at Carrefour or the new wine store, Terre de Boisson.
Foodys have not been forgotten either, with 15 restaurants on-site, catering for all tastes and budgets. For “food on the move” McDonalds is on hand, or try something more French and take lunch at Flunch. Or opt for a traditional style French Brasserie, or Italian or even Chinese.
Cité Europe is located next door to the Eurotunnel terminal, off junction 43 or 41 of the A16 Motorway. Shops are normally open Monday to Saturday, closing at 8.00pm (except Friday, until 9pm) and the Carrefour hypermarket closes at 10pm. The food area, Cité Gourmande is open 10am-10pm daily, including Sundays.
