It’s been a couple of years since we went to Fish on the Green – it was excellent. So there was an element of trepidation that things might have changed since our previous visit. It hasn’t – or if it has – it’s even better.
The same simple décor, Helen still front of house and the service as friendly and good as before; nice short wine list and the set lunch excellent value at two courses for £14.95. Peter, thank goodness, still in charge of the kitchen. Yes it is a fish restaurant, but meat eaters can relax, meat does appear on the menu and very good it is too. The couple next to us were eating the Hake but we were both in the mood for fish and chips – light, crispy batter and perfect fish. We had no room for puds unfortunately. A.M.H.
