Obsession was launched in 2001 as a celebration of great food, wine and a meeting of friends, old and new. From that first event, it has evolved but the ethos is still very much the same – to offer guests a completely memorable culinary experience, created by some of the world’s most innovative chefs.
Northcote and Obsession 22
The picturesque redbrick Northcote in the beautiful Ribble Valley was built as a family home way back in 1860. Today it is a renowned country house hotel featuring a Michelin star restaurant, a star it has held since 1996.
Northcote’s Executive Chef since 2001 is the highly acclaimed Lisa Goodwin Allen, one of the most exciting and innovative chefs in the UK who produces stunning dishes, from as much local seasonal produce as possible, all stamped with her own innovative twists.
Obsession, one of the most highly prestigious and internationally recognised gourmet festivals in Europe, returns to Northcote 21 January – 6 February 2022. And it is Lisa who will be in the kitchen for the start of Obsession 22.

Northcote’s Managing director Craig Bancroft and his wine team will have chosen wines to pair with the unique flavours and ingredients of each course each night.
Northcote recently retained its Spectator Two Glass Wine Award for its absolute commitment to wine, and breadth of the cellar across multiple winegrowing regions including Burgundy, Spain and Portugal. The hotel’s atmospheric bar is also a focal point of every evening with specially created Obsession cocktails that take inspirations from chefs’ menus.
